The Dragon Festival Part 4I quickly find out that lying on a bed with scales isn't all that comfortable, and I realize that the red scales lining my body are actually starting to rip up the sheets. So, I hop off the bed and lay down on the floor. I decide to try to get one more hour of sleep in before I wake up for the day, also 6:00 seems to be a good time to wake up anyhow. My mom and dad are still fast asleep, so I curl up on the floor, and wrap my tail around myself. It is actually really comfortable, and the tail actually serves as a pillow of sorts. I fall asleep in minutes wondering what I would look like when the transformation is over. I wake up exactly an hour later to numbness, and I could feel my tail doing something. I look at it, and notice that it is getting longer! I pick it up and notice that it's getting a little bit wider as well. After about 10 seconds, the tail finally stops growing at 20 feet
The Dragon Festival Part 7I wake up slowly to the sound of knocking on the door of the apartment. I lift my head off the pillows I was sleeping on and quickly slither over to the door. I open it to a woman with cleaning supplies, and I know she's here to clean the room. I tell her to give me a moment and pull myself back into my room. I push through the pool of red scales and find the rice box, still open. I shut the lid and put it into my mouth under my tongue. During my little nap, I have lost almost all the fat I gained from the rice earlier, and I can easily maneuver about the room. I still take up about half of my bedroom, but at least I can fly without difficulties I uncoil myself and begin to leave the room, taking about a minute with my 200-foot long body. When I finally get all of myself out of the room, the cleaning lady puts a sign on the door saying not to disturb the person inside, and shuts the
The Dragon Festival Part 11I lean back and relax as my room slowly begins to shrink. I'm not scared in the least, knowing that it'll stop eventually, so I spread my legs a little wider to accompany my expanding tail. A few seconds later, I feel my feet lift off the ground and arms sink into my body a little as the fattening process spreads throughout my entire body. Now, the only way for me to move is to breathe fire, which I'll do after a good night's rest. For some reason, the weight gain slowed to a trickle, confusing me. I know I haven't even reached 1 ton, so why is it slowing down? I wait for something to happen, and something does; my stomach gurgles. I wait a moment, and I feel my body being lifted off the ground. Looking down as best I can, I see that my butt is swelling at triple the speed it was before, and my tail is trying to keep pace. Together, they swell and fatten in harmony, and my body actually b
The Dragon Festival Part 6The old man just looks at me as though he is staring into my very soul. I look back, not knowing what he is about to do. A few more seconds pass before the standoff is broken by him making his way over to me. Thinking that he's headed for the golden dragon in the middle of the room again, I back off. But, he turns toward me and continues to walk in my direction. I stop moving away from him, and he reaches me. He puts the book inside his cloak and he puts a hand on my scales. He keeps it there for a moment, and then begins to run his hand down the length of my body. I uncoil myself just to make it easy for him as he gets down to my tail. He finishes with his strange action 5 minutes later, and I coil myself back up after his hand leaves my scales. "You have turned out to be a very good dragon. Before I say anything more, I must consult the golden one." He said. &
The Dragon Festival Part 5I take a quick glance at a clock on the dresser, and it says that it's 9:10. That gives me 50 minutes until I either grow or learn to fly. I am sure that one of those two are bound to happen, one meaning freedom and the other meaning being stuck in here for a lot longer than I want to. Suddenly, I hear grumbling coming from numerous places on my long body. I twist myself to hear better, and it's coming from three different places. After a second of thought, I realize that I have three separate stomachs! That means that I'm three times as hungry as normal, and I need something to eat, and fast! Preferably rice, but any food will suffice. I ask my parents if I can go out and get something to eat, and so I ask for some money. "Don't you remember? Dragons eat free!" says my mom. I completely forgot about that fact, and I know that today is going to be a good day.
The Dragon Festival Part 8I finally manage to wake myself up from the crazy nightmare and slowly open my eyes. It's morning and the sunlight is coming through the window and landing right on my face. I look around my bedroom and see that nothing is out of the ordinary, except I have gained a couple hundred pounds while I slept. The box must have opened in my sleep or something I shrug it off and think of my entire body floating off the ground, just for training purposes. I focus and feel my head lift off first, progressively followed by the rest of my body. A minute later I am floating a foot in the air and I no longer have to focus. Apparently the takeoff is harder to do than to stay in the air The idea of flying makes me wonder if I have any other abilities, like real Chinese dragons. I think for a moment and realize that, according to literature, almost every kind of dragon has the ability to breath
The Dragon Festival Part 12About an hour into the flight, I'm suddenly shaken awake. I look around, forgetting where I am for a moment, then I realize I'm still on the plane heading home, and that I'm 5 times my normal weight. But what could have woken me up so quickly without anybody touching me? I wait for a second, thinking, and then the plane suddenly starts shaking and vibrating. We have hit a bit of turbulence, and I feel my entire body jiggle as the plane continues to fly through the patch of oncoming wind. During the last part of the turbulence, the rice box placed on the top of my gut starts to move closer to my face, and begins to tilt forwards. I open my mouth in surprise as the box opens and falls right onto my face, rice going everywhere, but mainly into my gaping mouth. In my surprise, I swallow once, than again before I could tilt my muzzle upwards so as no more rice would fall into it. But now rice is spilling

Dave was for the most part, a casual gamer. He never really got hyped up for any new game or game system that much. However, he did have a soft spot for certain franchises like Jak and Daxter, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sly Cooper. His favorite of each series was, Jak II, Sonic Adventure II, and Sly 2: Band of Thieves. He had also beaten them all, and was curious to see if there were any possible "Easter Egg" surprises hidden in any of these games. He couldn't find any on his first tries with Jak or Sonic, but when he got to the Jailbreak level of Sly 2, a funny thing happen on the way to the loading screen. There had been several lightning storms in his town for the past several days, yet Dave didn't pay them any mind. During his playing of Sly 2, one of the lightning storms hit just a little too close to his home, as one of the bolts struck the electrical wire that led to his PS2. Since Dave was holding his controller at the time of the strike, he was affected along with his PS2 a
A Bloody, Stupid Miracle The day we’d cured the human condition was the day I put a bullet through my head and didn’t die. It was also the day I realized how scared I actually was of death, and after hours of muscle ache from holding that gauze against my open skull, after the wound closed and everything went back to normal, I had myself a good old-fashioned brainstorm. How ironic.
But when summer came, everything had fallen to shit. The air scorched my skin and parched my tongue every time I took a breath. The sun glared down on a rapidly-collapsing world, full of the undying bastard children of cruelty and misfortune. What was one to do when their cells regenerated faster than they decomposed?
My feet hit the pavement, now littered with jagged bits of glass to snap at my toes, thoroughly baked by the blazing ball of bitter disdain high overhead. Today was worse than yesterday. Though I’d often wondered the purpose of it anymore, I
